For Parade Participants


Thank you for your participation in this year’s Summer Fest Parade!

Here are few things to remember for the parade:

 

Section Assignments.  Please note the following section assignment,
set-up locations and arrival routes.

Arriving at the Line-up Site

· Do NOT go down Main Street, with the exception of Fire/EMS units.

· All Parade Captains will be wearing a Summer Fest Volunteer T-shirt and Safety Vests.  

Arrival Time

· Sections A, B, E & F.  Begin arriving by 11:45 PM

· Section C. Begin arriving by 12:00 PM

· Section D.  Begin arriving by 12:15 PM

Safety & Comfort

· For float entries, be aware of your float height conflicting with overhead wires.

· Leave ample space between you and the entry in front, noting the pace of the parade for continuous spectator enjoyment.

· Special EMS Triage Unit will be set up on Kierstead Lane, for emergency assistance.  

· All horse units MUST provide their own clean-up/pooper-scoopers to follow behind their unit.

Dispersing at the End of the Parade Route

The parade ends by Kierstead Lane. Floats disperse by S. Perry Parkway and bands disperse by Sterling Drive.

Judging & Awarding

· The following float awards will be given:  “Most Beautiful”, “Most Creative”, “Most Humorous” and “Best Theme & Color Presentation. 

· I f you wish your float to be judged, pause briefly in front of the judges’ booth at Kwik Trip.

· Winners will be posted at the Chamber Info Trailer.  We will call the phone you have listed on your form to let you know if you’ve won.  The trophies will be awarded at 5PM at the Beer Tent. 

After the Parade.

         Join us and relax at the Summer Fest Grounds for Free Admission at the Beer Tent.  Enjoy the top hits of the 70’s, 80’s & 90’s from 2PM-6PM;  Watch the Softball tournament wrap up with their final games to declare this year’s league winners.  Bring the whole family at the Football Stadium for the Oregon Parade of Bands Field Show Competition beginning 7PM.
