 “Bike Night At The Fest”

Troops & their families

We encourage all motorcycle riders to come on down to participate in our “Bike Night at the Fest.” Designated motorcycle parking will be available.

The Oregon Area Chamber of Commerce and the Oregon/Brooklyn Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10272 Salute Our Veterans, troops and their families. In recognition of their tremendous sacrifice, we invite the entire community to come out and honor them. Remember, if you are a motorcycle rider please ride on down to join us in giving our thanks.

A flag retirement ceremony will be conducted by the VFW Post and Boy Scout Troop 50 from 5:30-6:15 PM.

Master of Ceremonies Brigadier General Kerry Denson, an Oregon High School graduate, served our nation with more than forty years of service. General Denson's assignments included two combat tours in Viet Nam as a pilot. Gen. Denson has flown over 10,000 hours - 1,277 of them in combat. He is rated to fly both helicopters and airplanes. His many military awards include the Distinguished Service Medal, Silver Star, the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart, and 35 Air Medals.

The featured speaker for this powerful event will be Stefan Koehler.  A recent immigrant from Germany, Stefan was an eyewitness to the horrors of life under a dictatorship. He is now thankful and proud to live in America, the country of his dreams, the land of freedom and opportunity. His goal is to encourage Americans to appreciate and honor their great nation. His authentic enthusiasm is highly upbeat, touching, contagious. His speeches declare the greatness of America and instill patriotism in his audience.

Music by “Out Of Time” provided free of charge by the Chamber and the VFW immediately following the ceremony and concluding at 9:30.

One free beverage ticket per veteran, active troop, and immediate family member will also be provided on Thursday evening, courtesy of the Oregon/Brooklyn VFW Post 10272.
